Rev. Larry Rice is a preacher and bible teacher whose vision has long been to connect the faith of the average church goer to the real needs of people in crippling financial situations. He has long maintained that to believe that all men and women are made in the image of God but to leave them caught in an unjust system that rewards the greedy should be unconscionable.
Part of the Topical Studies series, preached at a Friday Afternoon service.
The sun had just set, and darkness was spreading itself across the horizon as I approached the southern part of Dallas on highway 35. Suddenly, as if scattered by some truck weaving from lane to lane, large concrete blocks appeared on the highway. They looked like they were 2 ½ feet high and 2 feet wide. Although I swerved to avoid those in my immediate lane I knew impact had been made but was not aware to what extent.
2 Timothy 1:7
7 for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. (ESV)
7 everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
whom I formed and made.” (ESV)
7 for he is like one who is inwardly calculating.
“Eat and drink!” he says to you,
but his heart is not with you. (ESV)
